Hose Restraints

Hose to Hose Whip Check
Selection

  1. Determine the hose I.D. (Inside Diameter).
  2. Determine assembly working pressure in PSI.
  3. Select the proper cable from the Hose Restraint Section (Win United 2014 Catalogue).

Example: Secure hose to the adjoining hose – Hose to Hose style

  • Hose I.D.: 11/2″
  • Working Pressure: 125 PSI
  • Safety Cable required: WU-RS-1103

Hose to Hose Whip Check
Installation

  1. Open the cable loop on one end and slide it over the coupling of one hose.
  2. Open cable loop on the other end and slide it over the coupling on the other hose.
  3. Connect the hoses.
  4. Remove slack by sliding cable loops as far apart as possible and equidistant from the connection.

Note: Under no circumstances should the assembly working pressure or working temperature exceed the working pressure or working temperature of the lowest rated component  coupling, clamp, ferrule, or hose).

Installation of 2 Bolt Clamps

ClampNotes

  1. Periodic bolt re-tightening is necessary due to “cold-flow” present in all rubber hoses.
  2. Bolt clamps (including nuts and bolts) are for a single use only! Once removed, discard.

Process

  1. Insert shank into hose.
  2. Place the stem in a vise.
  3. Position the clamp gripping fingers behind the stem collar.
  4. Tighten the bolts by hand until there is equal thread engagement. When hose O.D. (Outside Diameter) is at or near clamp maximum range.
  5. Using a torque wrench, tighten bolts to the recommended torque value.
  • Front bolt, one full turn.
  • Opposite side bolt, one full turn.
  • Repeat ‘the above until all bolts are tightened. Clamp bolts are designed to bend during tightening.

Dredging & Dewatering Solutions

muntWin United was recently awarded the supply of multiple dredge suction lines for installation in a large mine site project. The extra flexible Win United Grey Suction Hose fitted with 316SS Camlocks provided a light weight corrosion resistant solution for the application. Heavy duty 316SS bandit clamps were used each end to ensure the best possible retention of the hose ends. The Win United team worked quickly and effectively to ensure this project was manufactured and delivered on time.

Hi-Temp Drill Hoses

DrillThe Win United MaxAir Hose Kit is the ideal solution for high pressure and high temperature air delivery applications. Manufactured with a Black Chlorobutyl inner tube, this hose is resistant to oil mist and temperatures up to 150°C with peaks of 232°C, being designed specifically for the mining and drilling industry. These assemblies include crimped fittings, external hose restraints and internal wire restraints to ensure maximum safety at all times. Call today to discuss your requirements.

Hose Handling & Storage

Red Layflat Hose KitsHose life can be affected by storage conditions so it is important to ensure to maintain the best possible conditions
to ensure hose longevity. If the hoses are in a coil shape, the coils should be stored horizontally, not vertically. If possible, the hoses should be stored in their original package. If the hoses are stored in boxes, wood or cardboard must be used. Suitable storing temperature is 10-20°C. Care must be taken to prevent storing above 38°C. Below 0°C, hoses become stiff, therefore they should be allowed to reach normal ambient temperature before use. They should also not be stored in high or low moister ratio places.

Whip Hoses

Constant vibration created by Air Hammers, Drills and Breakers can be destructive to air hose couplings, especially the quick-acting style. To provide extra protection, connect one end of a 1-3 metre length of air hose to the tool using a heat-treated steel nipple which will withstand vibration for a longer period. Connect the other end of the Whip Hose to the air supply with
the quick-acting coupling. Whip Hoses should remain permanently connected to the tool and should be the same diameter as the supply line hose.Whip Hose

Municipality Sewage Station

IMG_0832-EDIT IMG_0855-EDITWin United were recently awarded the supply of 6” & 8” pump delivery hoses to a Sydney based council to transfer bulk waste, during a sewerage plant shut down. We assembled heavy duty suction hoses with Bauer’s and bandit clamps and high quality Black Layflat was used on the discharge side which was tested to 150psi to unsure no blowout occurred during operation.
